First graders across district 271 receive their very own plush puppy reading buddies through our new Paws and Pages literacy initiative, made possible by our wonderful partners at the EXCEL Foundation Coeur d'Alene, Parker Toyota, and Parker Subaru.
Designed to spark a love of reading and support the district’s goal of helping every student read fluently by year’s end, the program provides more than 600 first graders with a plush puppy complete with a collar, bone, and fun accessories.
Together with our valued community partners, we are excited to help build confidence and joy in young readers throughout the district for many years to come.
