This grant will assist students in grades 9 - 12
by purchasing signs for school breakfast and lunch choices. Students will
prepare food service signs daily. ($301.26)
Teens Crochet for Life

This grant will provide crochet hooks and a
variety of yarns. Students will create hats or afghans which will be donated to
area teens undergoing chemotherapy.($293.50)
Time for Refocus

This grant will purchase a projector for use in
8th grade. The students will gain an interactive, focused method of instruction
in their Consumer Science Class. ($1,800.00)

Building Bridges: Collaborating with
our World

This grant will purchase a OptiPlex 6X520 and
cover connection costs for resurrecting a video conference lab with live video
capability for use in varied curriculum areas in grades 9-12. The
students/faculty will benefit from the ability to experience live video
conferencing locally, nationally and internationally to interface with their
content area. ($1,759.00)

Inland Empire Discovery

This grant will fund 3 tours and an in-class
presentation for 11th and 12th graders. The students will go on a series of
excursions to expose them to local culture, industry and wildlife. ($1,300)
Introducing Spanish

Watchable Wildlife

Students will have opportunities to observe a variety of
living insects and birds from within the classroom space then write fictional
stories about these creatures. The stories will be made into PowerPoint shows
and illustrated with digital images by the children. Materials funded:
butterfly house, windowsill birdfeeder, giant ant farm, and printer ink

Out of This World

Students will have the opportunity to be fully immersed in
the study of the solar system through collaborative activities in the art, music
and P.E. classrooms. Materials funded: Handbooks, CDs, manipulatives, Ultimax
Balls, solar system kits, canvas panels and fluorescent acrylics ($1,497.35)
Building Confidence and Celebrating Creativity Through
Juggling

This grant will offer juggling opportunities to students to
build self-confidence and encourage creativity. Materials funded: beanbags,
rolling globes, clubs and rings ($1,200.00)

True Colors

Lake City High School.
A grant awarded for
the purchase of books, workbooks, and the True Colors identification cards. This
project will teach students to understand human characteristics through
self-identification of “True Colors;” improving communication between
students, teachers and adults; appreciation for people’s differences; career
guidance enhanced by personality traits.
Building Confidence and Community
through Juggling
Recipient: David Groth, Sorensen
Elementary School
A grant awarded for
the purchase of a rolling globe, (a 30” diameter plastic ball on which people
walk) and 135 quality bean bags. Students and adults will learn to juggle and to
balance on a rolling globe. This is a classroom and extra curricular activity.
Individuals will be monitored on juggling progress and attitudes toward school
and challenges, using the “attitude survey” created.

Catch the Spirit

project will increase the impact of a school-wide values program
providing literacy materials to each, discuss and reinforce eight core character
