Our Partnership with
Education
The EXCEL Foundation helps Coeur
d'Alene School District teachers fund projects that would normally not
be available by normal state funding. The EXCEL Foundation grants have
been awarded in every area of the curriculum and provide classrooms
with educational materials that support creative and innovative
projects designed by the classroom teacher to enhance student
learning. These grants were selected from a total of
forty-three applications. The following criteria were used to guide the
selection process:
The grant must offer students opportunities
that promote
The applicants were encouraged to think “outside
the box” in developing a project which would bring joy to themselves
and their students and renewed passion for teaching.
It is not a requirement that project goals be
directly related to state standards or improved standardized test
scores.
